Welcome to AOBA Studio. We are developing several projects around the famous Super Nintendo Entertainment System.

If you either are interested in brand new SNES games or are interested in making gamed for the SNES, feel free to take a look around!

Tech-Demo#

Tech Demo Video

The Tech-Demo is a short mini-game with runs on most SNES-game compatible consoles or emulators. It shows most of the features which the AOBA game studio and the AOBA game engine supports.

The game is still in development and is planed to be released in 2021 as free-to-play SNES-ROM file.

AOBA Game Studio#

SNES game maker

Using the AOBA Game Studio you can make your own Action-RPG games for SNES consoles very easily. The editor is designed to be all-inclusive and ships all tools you need to make a game for the SNES.

Currently the game studio is still in development and not public available. Please follow our blog to stay up to date.

The game studio uses the AOBA Game Engine as core engine, but can be advanced with your own scripts written using the FMA Assembler.

AOBA Music Studio#

Make your own music for SNES games using our AOBA Music Studio. The studio supports most of the SNES audio features, including playing large samples using streaming.

The music studio will be open-source and will include the full audio driver and some example ROMs all written using the FMA Assembler.

AOBA Game Engine#

The AOBA Game Engine is the core engine used by the Game Studio. It's a rich-featured game engine with a main focus on Action-RPGs.

The engine provides low-level features, a complex build system, graphic-features and game-logic elements and is completly written using the FMA Assembler.

Famicom Macro Assembler#

The famicom macro assembler (FMA) is a easy-to-use assembler developed to especially create SNES games. If you are interested in SNES development, feel free to take a look at this assembler.

Compared to older assemblers for SNES, this assembler has rich support for macros, classes and memory management. It is completely open-source and can be used by anyone for free!
